ANNUAL CID AWARDS CEREMONY: Today we had our annual CID Awards Ceremony, bringing together our team, partners and valued guests to recognise the outstanding contributions of our security personnel for last year. A special thank you to Members of the CID Board, Cllr Jowell, Saul Berman, our service providers, Regional Inspector Klatie and Senior Inspector Pretorious for joining us on this important occasion. Today was about honouring those who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our community. Security personnel are often the unsung heroes, remaining alert when we are not, patrolling when we are resting, and ensuring the spaces where we live, work and connect remain safe and secure. Security is a 24/7 commitment. It’s not always a role that comes with immediate recognition, and often the true impact is only seen when something goes wrong. From monitoring surveillance systems to responding to incidents, our teams are the first line of defence in protecting people, property and assets. The low levels of crime within the CID area are a testament to the dedication of our officers, their constant patrols, and the effective use of LPR and overview camera systems. As crime evolves, so too must our approach, staying proactive and removing opportunities for criminal activity. Heather Tager, COO of the SPCID says: “Today we didn’t just recognise the work being done, but the heart behind it. We proudly celebrated individuals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, demonstrating exceptional bravery, commitment and responsibility in their roles. To all our members, whether awarded today or not, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and your impact is immeasurable. Remember, the difference between an obstacle and an opportunity is attitude. Every opportunity has its challenges, and every challenge holds an opportunity. On behalf of all of us, thank you for everything you do to keep our community safe.” (Feed generated with FetchRSS)
