  • A POSITIVE STEP FORWARD:
    by Sea Point CID

A POSITIVE STEP FORWARD: Following a week of patient and consistent engagement, the Sea Point CID Fieldworker successfully assisted a 71-year-old man, who had been sleeping on the streets of Sea Point for approximately 18 months, into the Malmesbury Haven Night Shelter. Although he initially declined assistance, the trust built through ongoing outreach helped him decide that moving into a safe space would be the best next step. We hope this will lead to permanent accommodation in a suitable home for older persons, where he can experience the safety, care and dignity he deserves. Heather Tager COO of the Sea Point CID said the CID remains committed to compassionate outreach and connecting people experiencing homelessness with the services and support they need. She thanks the City’s Law Enforcement Displaced People Unit who came to the party and assisted with transport to the Malmesbury Shelter. This is what a partnership is all about. #SeaPointCID #CommunityOutreach #RestoringDignity #MakingADifference (Feed generated with FetchRSS)

Since 1998

Serving Sea Point for over 28 Years

The success of the Sea Point City Improvement District (CID) is the result of strong collaboration between various City of Cape Town departments, key service providers, and our valued partnerships with the South African Police Service, City Law Enforcement, Traffic Services, and Metro Police. Equally important is the continued support of property owners and business stakeholders within the CID boundary — and most importantly, the visitors and guests who bring life and vibrancy to Sea Point.
